Full Text

A familiar and well loved resident of Grimsby Beach passed away on Tuesday afternoon, in Hamilton Hospital, after a illness of short duration, in the person of Miss Iva Culver in her 59th year. Miss Culver came to Grimsby Beach with her parents, Mrs. Culver and the late Wm. J. Culver, from Medina, N.Y. in the spring of 1910, at the time that the late H.H. Wylie was transforming the popular summer resort into an amusement park. Her father had the merry-go-round and other concessions, which she helped him operate. Since that time she has been a continuous resident of the Beach and was beloved by all, particularly the summer residents, who could always count on her for assistance in their many activities. Besides her mother, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Walter Smith of Niagara Falls, N.Y. to mourn her loss. Funeral services will be held from the Stonehouse Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Rev. G. Taylor-Munro officiating.
