Peter Lavery, a highly respected resident of St. Catharines, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 11, 1922, after a brief illness, aged 88 years. The deceased is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. J. H. Dunseith, of Stratford, Ont., his wife, Amelia Poole having passed away about four years ago. The late Mr. Lavery was a former employee of the Government as Lock Tender and also a former employee of the Maple Leaf Rubber Factory at Port Dalhouseie. The funeral took place on Tuesday morning from his late residence, 158 Lake Street. The late Peter Lavery who was well known in Grimsby, the younest of a large family, was born in Trafalgar Township, Halton County. He was a brother of the late James Lavery of Caistor Centre, and uncle to Miss M. Lavery of Hamilton, and Patrick Lavery, of Caistor. He was great-uncle to Mrs. Armstrong Swayze and Mrs. H.H. Marsh of Grimsby.
