A pioneer in the municipal and business life of Beamsville for close to half a century passed away at his home on Dixon Street, early Thursday morning in the person of Charles E. Riggins, police magistrate and village treasurer. Deceased was born at Fort Plain, N.Y. in 1845 and came to St. Catharines with his parents in the year 1852. In 1871 he opened the drug business he carried on at the time of his death ... Seven children survive him; Mrs. A. Fawell and Miss Florence at home; Mrs. O'Neil of Hartford, Conn., and Josie of Walkerville; Fred of Chicago, Howard of Buffalo and Frank of Listowel.
