Believed to be the oldest resident of Lincoln County, Michael Babiuk passed away at his home in North Grimsby on Friday in his 104th year. He was born in old Austria of Ukrainian parentage in May 1840, and came to Canada in 1896. He lived at Calder, Sask. until coming here 24 years ago. His wife predeceased him three years ago at the age of 92, after they had observed their 71st wedding anniversary. They had 15 children, but only six are now living, four sons and two daughters, George, at home; Teddy, at [illegible]; James and David [illegible]; two daughters, Mrs. John Doherty, Yorkton, Sask., and Mrs. George Kobluk, Englis, Man. Funeral service was held on Sunday afternoon at St. Mary's Ukrainian Church, of which he was an adherent.
