A highly respected resident of Grimsby for the last 53 years passed away at her home on Gibson Avenue on Monday morning, Mary Catharine Teeft, wife of Richard Wadge, for many years Superintendent of Queen's Lawn Cemetery. Deceased had been in ill health for a long period and her demise was not entirely unexpected by relatives and a legion of friends. She was born in the Township of Caistor in November 1869, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Teeft. She was an adherent of Grimsby Baptist Church. Surviving besides her husband and grandson, Corp. Keith Brown, R.C.A.F., Trenton, a sister, Miss Clara Teeft, Hamilton; four brothers, John of Attercliffe, Oliver of Beamsville, Ellis of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Annis of Smithville. Funeral services were conducted at her late home by Rev. J. Richardson of the Grimsby Baptist Church and interment took place in Queen's Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers were Isaiah Piett, Arthur Norton, Wm. Bengough, Albert Dipper, Arthur Parsonage, and T. Edward Mannell.
