Grimsby residents were greatly shocked on Saturday to learn of the sudden death, in Kenmore, N.Y., on Good Friday, of Enos L. Fisher, in his 51st year. Deceased was born, raised and educated in Grimsby and had resided here up until a few years ago when he moved to Kenmore, N.Y. and engaged in the contracting business. About a year ago he suffered from a heart condition and with Mrs. Fisher came back to Grimsby to reside with Mrs. Fisher's parents, George and Mrs. McNinch, Oak Street, while recuperating. His condition did not respond to treatment for a great period of time and it was only recently that he was able to be out and around again. It was only on Monday of last week that they returned to their home in Kenmore, thus his sudden demise on Friday came as a great shock. The late Mr. Fisher was a son of the late Amos and Mrs. Fisher, and as a young man was very prominent in sports, being considered one of the best hard ball players in the Fruit Belt. He was a member of Union Lodge No. 7 A.F. & A.M. and of St. John's Presbyterian Church. Surviving besides his wife, the former Edna McNinch, are five brothers, Wilmer of Oshawa; Arthur in Ohio; Norman in British Columbia; Wallace of Stratford and Wray of Grimsby. The remains were brought to Grimsby on Saturday afternoon and rested at the Stonehouse Funeral Home until Monday afternoon when services were held by Rev. George Taylor-Munro. Interment was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers were Dr. Harold B. Brownlee, Arthur Culp, Albert Jarvis, J.O. Moore, A.B. Bourne, Awrey Lipsit.
