On Saturday evening, March 6th, the wedding was quietly solemnized in the chancel of the Church of St. Thomas, Hamilton, of Peg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Ponton, Grimsby Beach, and Flying Officer John Douglas Sproat, R.C.A.F., son of Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Sproat, Milton. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by Miss Marion Sproat, the groom's sister, of Milton, and Sub-Lieut. Patrick Blagrave, R.C.N.V.R., cousin of the bride, was best man. The service was conducted by Rev. R.C. Blagrave, the bride's uncle. Immediately after the service, Flying Officer and Mrs. Sproat left for an eastern point where the groom is to be temporarily stationed.
