A well built and prosperous looking young man of military age and appearance walked into the City Hall this (Saturday) morning and inquired for a Justice of the Peace, Alderman McIntosh was on hand at the time and undertook to look after him. The Ward 4 representative was somewhat surprised when after giving his name and address as E.W. Mayell, of Grimsby, the young fellow said he wanted to take an affidavit to the effect that being a Christadelphian, he was a conscientious objector and therefore not eligible for military service under the militia or national service acts. ...
