Citizens of Grimsby and surrounding country and the officials of Lincoln County will learn with regret of the death of James Brodie, for many years clerk and treasurer of the Village of Grimsby, Superintendent of Queen's Lawn Cemetery and County auditor, which took place at his home on Adelaide Street early this morning, Feb. 14, 1917, in his 76th year. The funeral will take place on Friday, Feb. 16th at 3 o'clock in the afternoon to Queen's Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Brodie is survived by his wife and one daughter, Miss Wilhelmina, of Toronto. Next week the Independent will publish a sketch of the late Mr. Brodie's life covering his educational, literary and municipal career in Grimsby covering a period of over 40 years.
