Mrs. H.O. Tuck, of Smithville, received the following cable on Sunday:

"Regret deeply B27274, Pte. Warren Harvey Tuck, previously reported missing in action now reported by Berlin, through International Red Cross, Geneva, killed in action, 19th August, 1942. Further information follows when received. Officer in charge of records, Ottawa, Ont."

High tribute has been paid Private Tuck as a soldier by his superiors who have communicated with Mrs. Tuck. Since none of his comrades had seen him wounded, hope was held that he might be a prisoner of war. He had many friends in Smithville, where he attended the public and high schools and was a devoted member of the United Sunday school and church.

Pte. Tuck was an adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Orval Tuck, and is brother is with the Lincoln and Welland, overseas.
