The unexpected death of Mrs. Rupert C. Duffield, Olive street, on Tuesday, August 11th, came as a shock to her many friends. Beside her husband, she leaves four sons and two daughters: Earl, at Kirkland Lake; Grant, with the Royal Canadian Engineers overseas; Howard and Keith, at home; Mrs. Harry Friedland, Timmins; and Phyllis, in Hamilton. Four brothers and one sister also survive: Harvey Barnim, Grimsby; Edward Barnim, St. Catharines; Eli and Charles Barnim, Springford; and Mrs. R.W. White, Tillsonburg.

The funeral was held this (Thursday) afternoon from the Stonehouse Funeral Home, with interment in Queen's Lawn Cemetery. Rev. T.E. Richards, of the Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Duffield was a member, officiated. The late Mrs. Duffield was born in Springford, Ontario, 55 years ago.

The pallbearers were Milton and Allan Duffield, George McGregor, Eli Barnim, Ernest Barnim, and Wm. Byford, all relatives of the deceased.
