Full Text

Emma Dzenis Boriss, in her 85th year, on Friday, January 30, 1998, at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontario, supported by her husband Nick and sons, Dick and Ivar, Emma Boriss, with a sense of humour and twinkle in her eye, leaves a family well loved by her hands and heart. As a young mother, she and her husband Nikolaj, brought their two young sons, Dick (Uldis) and Ivar from war torn Latvia to a new life in Canada. They farmed in Orangeville for 25 years, while Emma maintained an acre of flower gardens in the process. She blessed her grandchildren David, Karen, Megan, Ben and Emily with cookies, soup and hand-made socks, mittens, togues, scarves....and love. She encircles daughters-in-law Christine Boriss and Donna Douglas with a mothers' commitment.
