In St. Alban's Church, Beamsville, on Saturday, March 31st, at 3 o'clock, the wedding was solemnized of Joyce, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Annable, and Douglas Eugene Robertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Robertson, Grimsby. The Rev. E.F. Maunsell officiated.
Carnations, daffodils and Easter lilies formed the floral decorations for the occasion. Mr. Bert Filce was at the organ.
The bride, whose father gave her in marriage, wore a floor length gown of white satin and lace with bustle effect. A headdress edged with seed pearls held her finger-tip veil in place and she carried a bouquet of red roses and white hyacinths; she wore a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom.
Her only attendant was her cousin, Miss Donna Baughman of Alymer, gowned in robin's egg blue satin with lace overskirt and a matching headdress. She carried pink roses and white hyacinths.
Mr. William House was best man and the ushers were Mr. Stanley Annable and Mr. Norman Robertson.
A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents, Mountain View road, where over 80 guests gathered, including out-of-town guests from Chatham, London, Aylmer, Buffalo, Tonawanda and Middleport, N.Y.
The bride's mother received in black taffeta with touches of pink and blue. Her accessories were pink and she wore a corsage of pink and white carnations. The groom's mother wore grey with navy accessories and a corsage of red roses.
For going away the bride chose a navy blue suit with pink accessories and corsage of pink rosebuds.
After a honeymoon trip to the United States, the couple will reside at R.R. 3, Beamsville.
