An effective arrangement of white gladioli, ferns and candles decorated the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gladstone Mogg, 14 Kidd Ave., Grimsby, for the marriage of their only daughter, Joyce Mary, to Mr. Edgar Deacon Wheaton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Wheaton, of Maberly, Ont., on Saturday, August 12th, at 4:30 pm. Rev. J.P. McLeod officiated and Mrs. McLeod played the wedding music.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a lovely gown of blue Swiss embroidered organdy made with fitted bodice and full skirt. She wore a matching headdress and carried a nosegay of Garnet roses and fleur d'amour.
Her bridesmaid, Miss Doris Bromley, wore pink lace over taffeta with matching headdress and carried a nosegay of Sweetheart rosebuds.
Mr. Winston Wheaton of Oshawa was groomsman for his brother.
A small reception was held at The Village Inn. The bride's mother was wearing cocoa mesh with pink accessories and pink corsage, and the groom's mother was in blue flowered mesh with grey accessories and corsage of cream roses.
For going away the bride wore a grey suit with navy accessories and corsage of red roses. After a honeymoon in northern Ontario, Mr. and Mrs. Wheaton will reside on the groom's farm near Perth.
