MOREOB is a comprehensive, professional development and performance improvement educational series which will be offered within our hospital environment. It is a three year program for health professionals who provide care and support to women during labour and birth, including obstetricians, family physicians who attend births, midwives, and registered nurses. The key objective of MOREOB is to develop a healthcare team in the birthing suite that has shared knowledge, skills and behaviours that contribute to safe effective, family-centred care and an efficient, healthy practice environment. Our involvement in MOREOB will ensure that Halton Healthcare Services continues to advance both its excellence in quality care and safety culture. Help Select a Winner! Help a child (patient from OTMH) win a $500 education grant. The Oakville Hospital Foundation is holding an artwork contest and we need your help to select the winning child-artist. Paediatric patients - and their siblings - at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital have submitted their drawings for a chance to be featured on the front of the Foundation's holiday greeting card. The winning artist will also receive a $500 education grant! We're looking to members of the community to help select the winner. The Auxiliary to the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) recently announced their commitment of $3 million to the New Oakville Hospital Capital Campaign at their Annual General Meeting. This is the largest single pledge in the Auxiliary's 60 year history. The Auxiliary to Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital also presented a $200,000 cheque to Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) towards the purchase of medical equipment for the Emergency and Ambulatory Care Departments at OTMH at this meeting. American Women's Club of Oakville At the 2009 Oakville Hospital Foundation Donor Reception, the American Women's Club of Oakville (AWCO), represented by Leighanne Terry, Service Co-Chair and Sidonie Berson, Honorary President, presented a cheque for $1,000 to Michelle Kerby, Donor Relations Administrator for the Oakville Hospital Foundation (OHF). This cheque will be incorporated into the AWCO Endowment Fund. The AWCO started this fund in June of 2008 to support the (L-R) Leighanne, Michelle and Sidonie advancements of women's issues within numerous departments at OTMH. Ford Oakville Assembly Plant Charity Golf Tournament On Saturday, July 25, 2009 the employees of the Ford Oakville Assembly Complex had their 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. This year OTMH was selected as the beneficiary of the funds raised at this tournament which took place at Century Pines Golf Club. We would like to thank the tournament organizers Joshua Brown and Garnet Richards, the sponsors, prize suppliers and players who supported this event. Everyone involved made this tournament a great success. Thank you for the health or our community. Butt Out! Butt Out is a free group smoking cessation program specifically designed for smokers who want to quit. The program consists of seven weekly sessions that build on the skills and information needed to develop a comprehensive individualized quit plan and provide support for smokers as they go through the quitting process.
